Liz qualified as a solicitor in 1985. Initially she practised as a criminal defence lawyer with the firm Booth Bennett which subsequently became IBB LAW.
She started to undertake public law care work in late 1980s and achieved Children Panel accreditation in 1990. Liz has almost 40 years’ experience of representing children, parents, and other extended family members in care proceedings. She has experience of acting for parties in complex matters including cases involving serious non accidental/ inflicted injuries.
Liz undertakes her own advocacy and has appeared at every level of tribunal.
Liz is regularly instructed by Children’s Guardians to represent children primarily in West London and Central London family courts. Whilst at IBB LAW , Liz ran the public law children’s team for over 25 years. During that period, she was also the training principal. Liz joined Griffiths Robertson in March 2024. She hopes to continue to provide top quality legal representation to families in the Berkshire area .
She has developed a particular interest in advising and assisting extended family members who are caring for looked after children to ensure that they are receiving the support that they need and are entitled to.
